• Payment Terms
  • Full pre-payment is required for all bookings, either by 1st November or a minimum of 14 days prior to the event for bookings made after 1st November. Should payment not be made your booking may be cancelled and your deposit retained.
  • Final numbers must be confirmed no later than 14 days prior to the event.
  • Refunds will not be issued for late cancellations, however credit in lieu may be offered at the discretion of the hotel management.
  • All prices are per person and include VAT at the current rate.
  • Bookings are subject to availability.
• On the Night
  • All guests attending party nights must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
    Please be aware that we reserve the right to request photographic identification and to refuse admission or service to anyone appearing to be under the age of 21.
  • It is an offence to purchase alcohol for consumption by persons under 18.
    Anyone doing so will be asked to leave and may be reported to the Police.
  • Guests are reminded that only food and drink purchased within the hotel may be consumed on the premisis.
    Any food or drink brought into the event will be disposed of by hotel staff.
  • We operate a 'smart casual' dress code, please dress appropriately.
    Jeans, t-shirts & trainers are not acceptable. We reserve the right to refuse admission to anyone not appropriately dressed.
  • We cannot offer ad-hoc credit facilities.
    Should your party require credit, please contact our sales office no later than one month prior to your event.
  • Smiths Hotel must observe the Scottish Executive legislation on smoking in public places.
    Guests are requested not to smoke within any enclosed area of the hotel. Residents wishing a smoking bedroom should advise us when booking.
• Your Booking
  • Please advise us in writing of any special requirements as soon as possible. In particular please inform us of any special dietary requirements or of any guests who may need special assistance (eg. wheelchair users). We will do our best to accomodate late requests but cannot guarantee to honour any request received later than 14 days prior to your event.
  • Please be aware that the hotel does not currently have a lift. Our bedrooms are located on the second floor and our main function suite is on the first floor. While our staff will do their best to assist, we regret that some events may not be suitable for persons of limited mobility. If in doubt please check with us before making your booking.
  • We reserve the right to cancel any date or ammend any event at any time and for any reason. Alternatives will be offered or all monies paid will be refunded in the unlikely event of this happening.

The management reserve the absolute right to refuse admission to any event and for any reason.
